Very basic introduction to installing a web server on Ubuntu in order to host web pages. Installation of the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySql, PHP) from the command line, as well as some basic function tests are covered. This whole video really should have been done from a headless linux distro, as you do not need X/and GUI to maintain a linux server. Once you install the main components, a majority of your work is done remotely. Understanding how to leverage VI for initial configuration changes will also enhance your ability to not require a GUI on your web server host OS. Once LAMP (or the windows equivalent XAMPP) is installed, you are free to begin developing and testing your website content. Many resources are available online with regards to web design and development, though a basics course may be offered at another time.
